These pictures was taken from my place about a month ago.
After fasting for 29 days, now its time to celebrate the winning day.
This is the first time we celebrate Idul FITRI without my second child since she is in germany.
and we missed her very much.

and monas. we went by bus ( trans jakarta).
They not allowed us to take photograph in the museum.
But I stole one. We arrived at monas a litltle too late so could not get
tickets to the top of monas.
We were at the monas until almost sunset... It almost sunset but we must go because I thought for our own safety we must go back before dark, besides katya was very hungry eventhough she ate two ice creams already.

They perch on the tree's branch, grass..they flit from one thing to another.
But I captured one of them this morning.
And I found these :

lotus
and still many others i did not capture.
It was cloudy then, looked like going to rain, but actually only a little rain fall and the children
still could play on the yard's villa.
Suddenly, we heard thundering sound.. for a moment I thought it was rain fall. .but.. no..
yes it rained hard on a higher place somewhere causing the stream next the villa overflowed a little and the sound came from rapidly flowing water.

On our way home we had dinner at Cimori restaurant while enjoying beautiful mountain range view.

Me and my mother went to visit my brother who lived in Palembang, south sumatera. On Friday May the 8th at 5 pm we flew to Palembang after 4 hrs airplane delay , on sriwijaya air. Like Jakarta, Palembang has hot weather. But from the day we arrived on the weather was cloudy and rainy.
On saturday we drove to musi river , of course musi river and ampera bridge that spread over across the river, we must see, since they are the symbols of Palembang city.

We rent a ketek, actually a motorboat, and went to pulau kemaro. It took about a half hour. According to a legend in this island they
burried a princess
of sriwijaya , an empire in palembang hundreds of years ago, and her husband to be who was a prince from tiongkok. They threw themselves to the river because they were not allowed to be married. The people built a house for their grave, and in this house there is a woman as a chines fortuneteller. And there is something like a pagoda.
Actually my mother was a little afraid of this musi river trip. The wind and a little rain made waves causing the boat swayed sometimes. She was afraid that boat would turn upside down.
But I like the scenery even not beautiful , just unique I think.
People build their houses along the riverside.They called them the floating houses. They do everything at this riverside. I saw them from the boat on our way back, they took a bath, brush their teeth , caught fishes,children swam and played etc. I was willing to take some pictures of them but afraid that they'll be angry.
We had lunch at the riverside restaurant. Of course one of palembang food, pindang patin with sour , hot and chilly broth.
Palembang has no other interesting places to visit except musi and the museum. But if you like to shop there were many places, like rumah limas where you can buy kain songket, some art & handicraft galleries.
I wonder where my brother will take us tomorrow.
